What if she's right?
What if the missing heir to the Griffin throne is still alive?
What if the years she spent as the despised Fighter Number Six within the clan of women warriors was worth it?
What if it made her strong enough, skilled enough, ruthless enough to find the last surviving member of the royal family?
And what if the boy prince who's haunted her dreams since she was a child is now far more than she ever imagined he could be?
What then?

4.5 StarsLet me start with the half off a star. I honestly think the lead characters could have been maybe a few years older. Why? Well I think it would suit the characters better. It's not that any of what happens is implausible. I can completely see how a sixteen year old could do such things, it just seems like another five years and some things would mesh better. It could give a bit more depth to them. Also potentially open this book to more readers. Honestly I don't understand why more and more fantasy stories are being written with the leading characters younger and younger.
This is a story about a girl, Lark, who believes without a doubt that the young Prince lives and is the one to save the Silver isle. Her mission is to find him and bring him home. It's an interesting place that makes its living off silk, how they get the silk is a secret the entire isle keeps. You have an invading force called the Var, they seem like Vikings. This seems to be a place a about to crumble.
I really enjoyed the characters, plenty of different personalities. Even between the group that was basically not supposed to be emotional. This is really nice as sometimes the voices blend. This book does have a heavy religious theme. Between the nobles god that resembles the Egyptian thoughts with they are the way to heaven, they are god, and the peasant god that's like modern Christianity.
It's a book with assassinations, questing, finding oneself, some smiles, an oh man moment, a little romance, and a why'd they do that???
I personally will be reading the next book.

Lark Quest The Deeds of the Ariane Book 1 eBook Barbara Cool Lee Reviews
I read all three in one night. This was a quick and satisfying read. It is basically one book split into three novellas. I loved this story and felt like I was watching a movie as I read. I also like the references to the differing belief systems as well as the emphasis on every human life mattering.
Saw the first book in the series as a freebie and was like, "Why not?" Then I finished it and needed the next one. This set is definitely worth the price, although the one downside is that the series is a bit short.
I would never thought of reading this if it hadn't been recommended by a friend since this isn't the type of book I usually read. I found it fascinating and am so glad that I chose to get the volume since I would have had a hard time after reading just the first Novella waiting to get the second and third ones to read! I tried to figure out what was going to happen next but most of the time it was a complete surprise. The characters become real people for me so I hope that there are more coming in this series since I would like to know more about how and if they are able to change their world.
I've Read a lot of books this was full of action I could not put it down my wife got on to me for staying up until 100 in the morning so I could finish
Great story, well told - I am looking forward to the next books in the series - hope they arrive soon!
That's why we all must have been looking for a very fun, different and engaging I am excited as to the next in the author's work.
I almost didn't read this book, but I read the synopsis again and gave it a try. I'm very glad I did. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I found the author did an excellent job of writing a captivating story while incorporating Christian truths. A non Christian could read this book and enjoy the story without feeling like it is a religious book. I love seeing God's truth played out in fictional stories. Sometimes I think it is easier to see the truths in the stories without all the traditions of men getting in the way as we so often see happening in real life.
